St Johns High School - Emerald Hill

I have just added this new section to show readers all the places I have traveled and lived.
I learnt at St John’s High School, Emerald Hill in Harare Zimbabwe.

Below is a old picture of my former school

St Johns was a ‘nice’ catholic run school and I have many fond memories of the catholic nuns who taught me there.

Maybe if there are any web designers out there we can get together and design a St John’s High School alumni website.
I will provide the hosting + domian registration. What I just do not have is the time to design a website.
if interested email to blackvine at gmail dot com

Hi! I am 50 years old and I was in St johns from 1970 - 1974! Can you believe it???? It was a boarding school and we only had 7 day pupils. The main office was the sewing room and the senior classes were actually dining rooms for junior and senior pupils. Our Head Mistress was Sr Hyacinth. Our teachers were Sr Rosina, Sr Theresa, Mrs Prior, Mrs Humphrey and our art teacher was Mr Azvedo. Please contact me on {email deleted} if you require any info on the school in those days. My daughter is also a St Johnian and she is in lower 6 this year. I loved Johns with a passion as it holds sweet memories. We had students from Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia and Tanzania so it was really a mixed bag

    Hey…

Great school - if not the best. I had 6 years there and loved every bit of it. Mr. Azevedo! He was already there in the 70’s?? He was like my favorite teacher. Does anyone have any details of how I can get intouch with him…He was such an humble gentleman who offered inspiration to anyone who loved art and was never too busy to put in extra time to assist.

gosh…. I am 59 years old and was in St John’s from 1958 to 1973. Sister Hyacinth was headmistress, Sr Mary Regis was boarding mistress of the secondary girls boarding house. Geez I can’t even remember all of teh sisters who taught us - Sister Maria Goretti, Sister Hildegundi (the boys boarding mistress). It was a good school and my education which I received from the sisters has stood me in good stead all these years!!

  21. William Nhamo Says:
